HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
CREATE FUNCTIONAL ART!

Step One: Choose Your Piece
With so many fun pieces to choose from at The Painted Potter, picking your pottery might just be the hardest part of your visit! Each piece is clearly marked with its price, and the cost includes everything you need to create your masterpiece - paints, supplies, and firing.
Bring your ideas to life by planning your own design or getting inspired by our design binders and technique tiles. Explore different ways to decorate your piece using stencils, stamps, and other creative tools. Need a little inspiration? Our team is always happy to help you with the creative process!
Step Two: Choose Your Design

Step Three: Choose Your Colors
A little paint goes a long way, so start with a small amount to avoid waste. For a more solid, even finish, apply 3 coats of paint. Fewer coats will create a more transparent, layered look with some variation and streaking - perfect if you prefer a softer or more artistic effect.
Step Four: Enjoy A Relaxing Paint Session
Now comes the fun part - sit back, relax, and let your creativity shine! Take your time and enjoy the experience as you paint your piece. Our team is always here to help, so if you have questions about paint colors, techniques, or how many coats to apply, just ask. We’re happy to offer suggestions and help you bring your vision to life. We also offer a variety of snacks and beverages to enjoy while you create!

Step Five: Leave The Rest To Us
All done? Leave your piece on the table and we’ll take care of the rest! Stop by the checkout desk before you leave so we can collect your information and send you a text when your pottery is ready for pickup. Running out of time? No worries! You don’t have to finish your piece in one visit. We’ll happily hold your unfinished project so you can come back and complete it. Just visiting the area? Ask us about our shipping options - we’d love to help you get your finished piece home. And don’t forget to come back and create with us again (it’s a healthy addiction, we promise!). Looking for a pottery experience at home, the office, or school? Ask us about our Take-Home Kits!
